Located in the charming and remote island of Susak in Croatia, the Susak music festival has evolved a lot during the seventeen years since its founding. At first, the festival was a somewhat spontaneous organization of young music students performing chamber music for the locals at the island's church square. Over the years, under the leadership and organization of Minka Popović and her family, it became one of everybody's favorite summer events. It attracts renowned musicians, performing anything from classical to jazz or occasional world music. What makes the festival so unique is the intimate atmosphere between the performers and the audience and the strong sense of community among the musicians, who often keep returning to share their musical enthusiasm and enjoy the beautiful nature of this Mediterranean oasis.
